Code of Ethics

At MMI, Inc. we believe that our success and growth depends on maintaining the highest degree of ethical standards in all situations. Our industry is going through a period of rapid change, and with that comes new challenges, opportunities and ethical questions. While we believe that most people want to behave in the most ethical manner, there are times when the way is not clear. This Code of Ethics should serve as a guide for employees and managers dealing with ethical dilemmas.

  • Honesty: Our credibility and reputation is the cornerstone of our business and depends on the accuracy of our information in publications, products and advertisements. We have an obligation to be truthful in our dealings with customers, vendors and each other. Misleading, false or exaggerated claims are not tolerated.

  • Independence: We avoid all activities that could compromise our ability to be fair, truthful and unbiased. Editorial decisions will not be influenced by commercial, personal or political factors.

  • Transparency: We are open and communicative with employees and each other about business processes and provide employees with financial reporting that will help them do their jobs effectively. We understand that transparency is necessary in order to establish ourselves as a credible authority in the fields we cover.   • Objectivity: We have a responsibility to ensure a high standard of objective, unbiased exchange of information. We will disclose any conflicts of interest that might make it difficult to present information objectively. Accepting gifts and perks from vendors or sources is strictly forbidden.

  • Acknowledgement of source: When publishing ideas, observations, arguments, words, pictures, videos, audio or graphics that are not ours or are not common knowledge, we will cite the original source.

  • Corrections: We strive for accuracy, but mistakes sometimes happen. When they do, we acknowledge the error and follow the established company guideline for promptly correcting them.

  • Discrimination: We do not unfairly discriminate against each other or the people we cover on the basis of age, citizenship status, disability, national or ethnic origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, veteran status or for any other unlawful reason.

  • Privacy: We are strongly committed to safeguarding the privacy of employees, customers, vendors and others. We take precautions to ensure that information describing individuals is protected from unauthorized access or accidental disclosure to inappropriate individuals. We never share or rent our customer database to anyone.

  • Fair price: In a field where other publishers charge several thousand dollars for a single-user subscription, we believe in offering a fair price for our products and services. We work with those temporarily experiencing financial hardship in accordance with our mission and vision -- to advance the effectiveness of professionals within every industry we cover by providing them with very high-quality, exclusive news and information products.

  • Corporate assets: We are responsible for protecting and preserving the company’s resources, such as laptops, mobile phones and information. We will hold all proprietary information and data in the strictest confidence.

  • Intellectual property: All copyrightable works created by an employee within the scope of his or her employment is a “work made for hire” and is the property of MMI, Inc. It may not be reproduced without written permission from MMI, Inc. The publisher should be notified of any known instances of copyright infringement.
